Overview

    Tongsheng acoustic nonwoven is a new type of super thin light sound-absorbing material,be made of various functional fibers. Sound absorption is a sound dissipation and can be achieved by means of very thin absorbers presenting an appropriate sound impedance. For sound absorption, the propagation of sounds is absorbed by converting sound energy into thermal energy. Materials with sound-absorbing properties are called sound-absorbing materials. Tongsheng acoustic nonwoven is a porous sound-absorbing material, there is many connected micro-holes inside the material. On porous sound-absorbing materials, sound energy is mainly converted into thermal energy by viscous friction between the oscillating particles of the sound-propagating medium (air) and the structure of the porous material.
       Tongsheng acoustic nonwoven is the new material specially designed for absorbing sounds. In practice, perforated ceiling tiles made of metal, wood, plastic or gypsum and provided with Tongsheng acoustic nonwovens(glued) on the back are used for absorption of air-borne noises.

Property 、Technical data & Application

        Tongsheng acoustic nonwovens are available for the thickness of 0.2mm and 0.35mm, in black and white, with or without hot melt glue on the back. Except the sound absorption values, main technical data is given in the table.

Storage conditions &
storage duration
Storage under cool, dry and light-protected conditions is recommended (storge temperature max. 40℃, avoidance of high relative air humidity, formation of condensed water and solar radiation). Be sure to place them upright and don't exert pressure. Storge duration until processing should not exceed 8 months.

Besides black and white, almost all RAL colors in common use can be provided.

All numbers represent average values which are subjected to normal production tolerances.

Tongsheng sound-absorbing nonwovens provided with a hot-melt finish. Various techniques can be used:

1.Infrared-radiation
    Activate the hot-melt finish with an infrared radiator and press by using a brush roll
2.Hot air-fan
    Activate the hot-melt finish with a hot air-fan and bond by using a feed roll
3.Flat-iron
    Lay the hot-melt side onto the ceiling system and laminate it by using a flat-iron within a temperature range of 115 -125°C

Test of Sound Absorption Coefficient

        Tongsheng acoustic nonwovens were tested by Acoustics Institute of Tongji University, the result is given in the table.

Test of Flame Retardant

      Tongsheng acoustic nonwovens were tested by China National Center for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Fire, the result is given in the table. The tests were passed and the result was non-flammable to GB 8624-1997. It can be classified in Class B1.
